Overdue Checkin!

Feeling good overall.
14

It’s been too long since I’ve checked in so here’s a video update! As you can see, I’m alive and well and I actually have little hairs growing back on my head already, though you likely can’t see that from the video. 😉

I think part of me was avoiding a new post because I was waiting to hear “good” news so that I could share it. But the reality is that the fact that I’m feeling good and returning to a “normal” life doing the things I want to do and that bring me joy, which is good news.

Yes, I did get scans last week that gave me a mixed bag of results. Overall my medical team feels that things are stable and are pleased. I am also happy about that though I can’t help but have some fear and anxiety about the areas that are growing. BUT, I’m very much still hopeful that my TIL cells are working hard. I go back to the NIH in 5 weeks for another set of scans and that’s when we should have a better picture of how effective my cells are working.

Lastly, many have asked about whether the changes that this “new” administration have implemented will effect me, and so far the answer is no. This doesn’t mean that it can’t change in the future and I’m really grateful that most of my treatment has already occurred. However, it is concerning how this could affect ongoing research and future patients like me. It’s really unsettling but I won’t go on about that here.

Big thanks to everyone who reached to ask how I’ve been doing. Thank you to all of you for still being here and coming along for this ride. I truly appreciate all of your support and encouragement.

With love and gratitude,

Jess
