Hey folks, Chris here. Didn’t plan to be writing another guest post quite so soon, but again, that’s the thing with plans.
Jess died peacefully yesterday, Thursday June 26 2025, at around 1:15p. She was comfortable and in no pain. Even the nausea had mercifully subsided. She was sleepy and quiet but conscious, alert and clear until the very end. She even cracked a smile and a faint laugh at a joke we shared about me cutting my fingernails just a few hours prior. She was ready.
In alignment with Jess’ wishes, there will be an intimate graveside ceremony at her green burial next week.
My hope (not gonna say plan) is to sit down and write a longer post once some of the to-do items of a death settle (and as many of you know, there are many), and especially once the details of Jess’ Celebration of a Life and a Death have begun to come together, which I sincerely hope many of you will attend.
But for now, we just want to say thank you, and please, no flowers ;)
Love,
Jess and Chris
